Structure and Principle

The internal mechanism of an STU operates using high-viscosity fluid and a piston to control its mechanical behavior, featuring the characteristic of 「Slow Movement, Rapid Locking」. It permits slow displacements caused by temperature changes or creep during normal conditions, thereby avoiding restraint stress. When an earthquake or an instantaneous external force occurs, it instantaneously locks the structural connection, effectively transferring horizontal forces to the primary supporting members.
