Mud Gun / Clay Gun Cylinder
Mud Gun or Clay Gun is a cast iron mud gun machine performs one of the most important and responsible operations in blast furnace production – the guaranteed taphole plugging. Our equipment is specially designed for extremely difficult working conditions. A steam cylinder operates a plunger inside a steel tube into which clay is fed from a hopper tube as the plunger is worked back and forth, and is thus forced into the taphole at the end of a cast. The forces developed by the hydraulic drives of the machine guarantee efficient and reliable operation with any modern and high-strength taphole clay.
